The Smoky Eye For People Who Don't Have Eyeshadow Skills

Urban Decay Smoky Palette

Eyeshadow is the one part of makeup that I've never fully mastered, I'm getting there with eyeliner (although it doesn't look too great in the photo) and the rest of the face is relatively easy but eyeliner is not the thing for me. I absolutely love playing around with different looks and sometimes I'm really proud of what I've managed whereas other days it looks like a little child has come and splodged some eyeshadow on my eyes.

As bad as I am with eyeshadow it doesn't stop me buying more and more palettes, maybe if I have lots then I'll become a pro with the shadows although that is yet to happen. I recently got the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette and what a beauty it is. Twelve gorgeous shades that are all actually really wearable even though the name suggests that it is only for smoky eyes. I suppose thinking about it now, the look I have created here isn't really a smoky eye but it's using the smoky palette so I'm going to say it is.

I used a mixture of Combust and Whiskey all over the eye for a base colour then Whiskey in the crease. I blended this all together and then added some of Armor on the outer two thirds of the lid. I finished the eyes off with a narrow line of Soap and Glory Supercat liner and lashings of Urban Decay Subversion and Perversion primer and mascara.
