Films for a Lazy Day

I love watching films, if I'm bored, ill, tired or just in the mood I'll stick a film on and watch to my hearts content, usually with some chocolate next to me that I've finished before I've got half way through the film. Seeing as it's a Sunday and I truly believe Sundays should be spent watching films and eating crisps and chocolate followed by a roast dinner cooked by someone other than me, I thought I would give you my recommendations of what you could watch today.

These are some of my favourite films of all time, the ones I can watch all the time and they all make me smile in some way. About Time and Love Actually are both written and directed by Richard Curtis, he's written some brilliant films but these two are my favourite, I tend to keep Love Actually for Christmas but About Time is well loved all year round, a comedy but be warned, you'll need tissues for the ending, I've watched it countless times but I still cry! But don't be put off, it's a brilliant film about a man who finds out that he can go back in time if he stands in a dark room and thinks about when he wants to go back to. It's probably my favourite out of all these films.

I don't know what I can say about Harry Potter, I love the films nearly as much as the books. The casting of these films is amazing and I think they got every actor or actress right for the character, especially for the character of Luna Lovegood played by Evanna Lynch who you meet in the Order of the Phoenix, she's perfect for the part. The two that are shown, the Philosopher's Stone and the Order of the Phoenix are two of my favourite although I do love them all.

Monsters Inc and Monsters University are two brilliant films, I'm pretty sure I don't need to explain either of them because Monsters Inc is a classic comedy for all ages and the prequel is the same, I love it just as much as my parents and I'm pretty sure that kids love this film too. I love the idea that Mike and Scully met when at University and it shows how they became such good friends.

Despicable Me is similar to Monsters Inc, a genius comedy for all the family and I actually prefer Despicable Me 2, set after the original, Gru has been hired as a spy and is trying to find the bad guy who has stolen a secret formula. A funny twist on the original where Gru was wanting to be a villain, a must see if you loved the first one. Has anyone seen the new Minions film yet? I haven't had a chance to see it but I can imagine that it will be pretty good seeing as the two Despicable Me films are so good.

Finally Maleficent, a different, live action version to Sleeping Beauty which tells the tale of the witch who put the spell on Aurora to sleep. I'm not a huge fan of the older Disney films but I really liked Maleficent and also Cinderella that came out earlier this year. I'm really looking forward to the live action version of Beauty and the Beast.

I'd love to hear your recommendations about what films I should watch.
