Summer Face

Bourjois, Soap and Glory, Maybelline Mac

This is the makeup that I've been picking up quite regularly over the past couple of weeks. As much as I love to try out a new product or wear a bolder lipstick I'm that type of girl that will choose the same things to wear each day because I know it works for me and I've got into a quick little routine of putting it on in the morning.

First up and for obvious reasons in the summer heat is the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF. You can read my review of it here. This is a lovely non-sticky SPF that I wear before putting on my Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation which I've really been enjoying because it's light and dewey which is a lovely look for summer. You probably know by now that I will of course be using Mac Pro Longwear concealer because I can't live without this! On the really hot days I've been dusting a little Rimmel Stay Matte powder so I don't get a shiny nose but if it's a little cooler I miss this step out. Finishing off the base I like to use Soap and Glory Solar Powder pretty much all over my face because I'm like a ghost but I do not accept my ghost-like complexion so lots of bronzer is a must for me. I also use this for contouring to make it look like I have cheekbones too.

For my eyes I've been quite lazy and only using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, applying it with my finger and blending it out with a fluffy brush, easy peasy. I've really got into using Maybelline Gel liner for my eyes, I've been a fan of this for a few years now and recently I've started using it with my Zoeva 317 Wing Liner brush which is great for a very subtle line, I haven't mastered doing flicks with it yet. Another Maybelline eye product that I've been using is the Lash Sensational mascara which is a cheaper alternative to Benefit Rollerlash, although I prefer Rollerlash I do like the Maybelline version, great for volume and it lasts really well. For my bottom lashes I've been using Eyeko Skinny Mini Brush mascara as it's a teeny little brush that doesn't go under my lower lashes when I apply it. Lastly I've been using Rimmel Brow This Way Sculpting Kit in dark brown, before this I was all for using eyeshadow for filling in my brows but I saw this for a few pounds and thought I would be adventurous and try a wax. I've been really liking this and I haven't gone back to the eyeshadow since I started using it.
