May Favourites

Soap and Glory, Collection, Maybelline, Bourjois

Yet again I'm late with a favourites post but at least I'm doing one this month! I don't have a huge selection, there were quite a few products that I was going to put in but I've talked about them a lot on the blog before (I'm thinking Benefit Rollerlash and Mac Pro Longwear Concealer).

A month or so ago I decided to try Bourjois foundations again, I've used the Healthy Mix Serum foundation but I found that it clung to my dry patches so I stopped using that about a year ago, I then decided to try the original version which I've fallen in love with; the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation is lovely to wear when I want a light base with a perfect amount of coverage when my skin is having a good day. With my trusty Mac concealer on any blemishes and under-eye-bags this is the perfect combination. It doesn't cling to dry patches and with a little powder on my nose and forehead where it tends to get a little shiny I have a lovely base. I'm not sure what this is going to be like when it gets really hot in summer because that's when my skin gets oily so the two might not mix well together, I'll keep you updated on that one.

My other three favourites are all eye products, the first I think I used everyday that I wore makeup last month which is the Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner (I've just realised that this was in my last favourites so it must be a good 'un). This is a bargain of under £4 and it worth every penny. This stuff sticks around all day which is one of my favourite things about it. This brush isn't the easiest thing to use and it is easy to go wrong with this, especially if you do your makeup before your breakfast with shaky hands because you're so hungry (I'm speaking from experience here).

I have quite oily eye lids which means that with every eyeshadow I use, it will always crease after a few hours of wearing it. I used a sample of the Urban Decay Primer Potion which I really liked although by mid-afternoon I still found the shadow was creasing. I've been using the Soap and Glory It's All About Prime Eyeshadow Base which I find is a drugstore alternative to the Urban Decay one. Even though the Soap and Glory primer still doesn't prevent creases all day, it does give my eyeshadow a few extra hours wear and I find that I can blend out the crease mid-afternoon. It's not perfect but I don't want to part with too much money for a high end version that still might not prevent creases on my lids.

My last favourite has been the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hour in Permanent Taupe. I've been loving wearing this on its own or with another shadow too, usually one with a shimmer in if I'm feeling fancy. This is a really lovely colour that is so easy to wear and is such a nice product to blend out either with fingers or a brush.

That's all I've been loving in May, what have you been liking? I can guess that in my June Favourites there will be some of my new Zoeva brushes because I got a set last week and I can't stop using them!
