Recommendations please!

I'm in the middle of exams at the moment, I have one on Tuesday that I am so fed up of revising for and then I'm going home this weekend for a bit of relaxing before coming back to uni to do my last exam which is on 3rd June. I've decided that I'm going to treat myself after that as I've been working really hard and when I haven't been revising I've been working so I haven't been able to have any time off.

Seeing as I'm really loving blogging and I always want to improve it I thought I would buy myself a camera, currently I'm using my iphone 5c which does have a really good camera on it, I think its 8mp which is pretty good, we have an old camera at home that is only 7mp. I don't want a really expensive one as I am a student but a good camera does always come in useful, I can use it to create some really good pictures for my blog but I'm also going on holiday too and I do want to take some snaps on my travels!

My dad is a proper camera nerd, I couldn't tell you how many cameras he owns, I don't know if he even knows so I'm going to ask his advice but I thought I would also ask my fellow bloggers, what camera do you use? I have to say I do always judge blogs by their photos and if people are doing that with mine then I want some good photos!

Any recommendations would be really appreciated, Thanks guys!!!

Ta ta for now!

  1. I currently use the Nikon D5100. It's a DSLR, so those are pricey but the picture quality is SO worth it (especially if I can get the lighting to look amazing). Initially I started with a regular old Nikon point and shoot camera, and that worked out great when the lighting was good. Good luck on finding a camera that suits you!

    1. Thanks for the advice, I'm debating between a DSLR or a much cheaper camera although I am leaning towards a DSLR so I'll definitely look into that one

    2. if you are going for a DSLR, go either with a Nikon or Canon. They are the most reliable on the market...and if you want to upgrade on lenses you will get a better selection! There are great cameras to work with! There will be a learning curve... and it will take some time..but it'll be worth it!

    3. I was looking at both of them, I was thinking about buying the camera and the lens separate but I'm not sure yet, I know there will be a lot to learn but I want to challenge myself with it so I think a DSLR will be good for that. Thanks for your help!

  2. Hi Emma
I'm also looking for a nice camera but don't want a really expensive one. I've heard good things about the Canon s110 and it seems reasonably
priced. I've never tried it out though so I'm not sure. Maybe go to your local
Camera store and see what they have.
    Good luck =)

    1. I'm going to do lots on research into them all before I invest but then I will be wanting to try it out and see what the people in the camera shop say. Hope you find a good camera too!

  4. I want to buy myself a camera too, but I haven't looked at any yet... If you find one that's good and not too expensive, I'd love to know.

    1. At the moment I'm thinking a second hand DSLR because they give such amazing quality but I'm still not 100% yet, I'll be doing a post on it when I get one though x
